Beauty tips according to your Face Shape

We all want to look our best and this becomes even more important before holidays. We make new resolutions, new plans and … maybe even considering new looks? If you are ready for a change, a new haircut might be that something that will help you to see a new YOU and will bring about other positive changes in your life.

Not sure which hair style will compliment your looks? Check out the tips on choosing a new haircut, and share your own ideas in the comments below.

Go Face First

The right cut should work with not only your type of hair but  also the specific shape of your face. If you are not sure how you would describe yours, grab a ruler and measure the length of your face from the top of your forehead to the tip of your chin. Divide by three. That is your first number. Now measure from the bottom of your nose to the tip of your chin. If the first number is smaller than the second, your face is long. If the first number is bigger, your face is round. If the two numbers are roughly equal, you have an oval face.

Make a Match

If you face is oval, you can wear most cuts.

If you have a long face, chin-length cuts or bobs are ideal as they add width. In general, longer faces should skip the extremes of very short or very long styles.

Round faces are complemented by longer geometric cuts that have angled layers; less flattering are blunt styles that end above the chin. If your face is full, you might also want a cut with more volume on the crown that on the sides.

Individual Features

Your individual features influence your ideal hair cut, too. If you have a strong chin, steer clear of blunt-cut bobs; subtle layers and playful pieces will be more flattering. If your face is square with a strong jawline, soften the geometry with face-framing layers that hit below the chin, and avoid blunt-cut bangs or too much side volume.

Use Salon Hair Care Products

Don’t forget to ask your stylist to recommend you professional hair products. There are plenty of those on the market today, and you can choose among those established salon hair product brands Aveda, Moroccan oil, Kerastase, Bumble and Bumble hair products, Brazilian Blowout, to name just a few. Not only will they help you keep the hair clean and neat, they will moisturize and protect your hair from damaging effects of the environment and will make your hair look shiny and healthy.
